Stillborn child, registration
What is it?
If your child is stillborn after a pregnancy of 24 weeks or more, you must register the birth. You can do this at the civil registry office of the municipality where your child was born.
Both the father and mother may register the death. However, others who are aware of the death may also do so. In addition, hospital staff or the funeral director may also register the death.
What should I do?
To register a stillborn child, you will need:
- your valid proof of identity
- the doctor's statement of your child's death
