Lively Lions
Beneden-Leeuwen next Beneden-Leeuwen years, we want to make the center of Beneden-Leeuwen more attractive and livable. We are doing this through the “Levendig Leeuwen” project. The Levendig Leeuwen project involves the redesign of Zandstraat (from the intersection with Zijveld to the intersection with Dijkstraat), Molenlaan, Sportlaan, and Wielstraat.
Current status
On October 10, 2024, the municipal council the urban design plan. The urban design plan was developed based on the guidelines and parameters provided by the municipal council. These guidelines have been translated into design principles.
The urban design plan is currently being further developed technically on a street-by-street basis.
What's next
We are further developing the urban design into a technical drawing. We are doing this on a street-by-street basis.
The order of implementation is: Molenlaan (2025), Wielstraat, part of Sportlaan, and the intervening streets (2026), followed by Zandstraat/Dorpsplein and the remaining part of Sportlaan (2027).
Residents will still have the opportunity to provide feedback on the design before it is finalized.
Molenlaan was redesigned in 2025, and Margrietstraat in 2026.
A final plan for Wielstraat and Sportlaan was developed in collaboration with local residents. These streets are currently being redesigned.
