LEADER grant for quality-of-life projects
Starting May 10, you can apply for a LEADER grant
Do you have an initiative that contributes to the quality of life in our rural areas? If so, you can apply for a grant starting May 10. This is the so-called LEADER grant, which is a European grant.
You can apply for a grant for projects that contribute to:
- Livable, resilient villages
- A green region rich in biodiversity
- A strong local (leisure) economy
In your project, it is important to focus on renewable energy and the impacts of climate change.
How can you apply for a grant?
Do you have a great initiative? Or would you like to discuss an idea? Please contact Jolanda Kemna, the LEADER coordinator, at coordinator@rvnmw.nl or 06 1344 3166.

Who reviews the grant applications?
A Local Action Group (LAG) reviews the applications. The LAG includes residents, interest groups, and officials from the municipalities in the region.
Which municipalities are collaborating within LEADER?
The municipalities of Berg en Dal, Beuningen, Druten, Heumen, West Maas en Waal, and Wijchen jointly applied for the European subsidy under the name Rijk van Nijmegen Maas en Waal. This amounts to 1.2 million euros for this LEADER area.
Sample Projects
In other regions, for example, the grant went to a project to repurpose a village church. It also went to a village vegetable garden and a project to raise awareness of sheep herding. And a project to transport people from rural areas to activities.
