LEADER subsidy for projects promoting quality of life

From May 10, you can apply for LEADER funding

Do you have an initiative that contributes to the quality of life in our rural areas? If so, you can apply for a subsidy for it starting May 10. This is the so-called LEADER subsidy, which is a European subsidy.

You can apply for subsidies for projects that contribute to:

  1. Liveable, resilient villages
  2. A green region with high biodiversity
  3. A strong local (leisure) economy

In your project, it is important to pay attention to sustainable energy and the consequences of climate change.

How can you apply for a subsidy?

Do you have a good initiative? Or would you like to discuss an idea? Please contact Jolanda Kemna, the LEADER coordinator, at coordinator@rvnmw.nl or 06 1344 3166.

More information about the LEADER subsidy program can be found at leaderrijkvannijmegenmaasenwaal.nl. LEADER can also be found on Facebook and LinkedIn.

Who assesses the subsidy applications?

A Local Action Group (LAG) assesses the applications. The LAG consists of residents, interest groups, and administrators from the regional municipalities, among others.

Which municipalities collaborate within LEADER?

The municipalities of Berg en Dal, Beuningen, Druten, Heumen, West Maas en Waal, and Wijchen jointly applied for the European subsidy under the name Rijk van Nijmegen Maas en Waal. The subsidy amounts to €1.2 million for this LEADER area.

Sample projects

In other regions, the subsidy went to a project to repurpose a village church, for example. But it also went to a village vegetable garden and a project to raise awareness of sheep herding. And a project to transport people from rural areas to activities.
