Request a charging station

Car ownership is relatively high in our municipality. And an increasing number of cars are partially or fully electric. Owners of an electric (leased) car can apply for a public charging station. This is subject to the condition that they do not have, or cannot create, a charging option for their vehicle on their own property.

Requirements in our charging vision

Our Charging Policy outlines when and where it is possible to install public charging stations within our municipality. One of the main Requirements is that you are unable to charge your vehicle at home or at your place of business. And, of course, you must own an electric vehicle. This means you cannot request a charging station on behalf of others, such as your guests.

Charging stations are rarely located right outside your front door. Instead, we choose a location that isn’t directly in front of a home but is easily accessible and centrally located in the neighborhood. For example, between two or more applicants, so they can all use the same charging station.

Request a public charging station

You apply for the public charging station directly with Vattenfall. They will coordinate the location with us. We have established working agreements with Vattenfall to ensure that the entire process, from application to installation, runs smoothly. It can take between 2 and 6 months from the time you apply for a charging station until it is installed. This depends, among other things, on the number of applications in a neighborhood.

Installation and maintenance by Vattenfall

We do not install or maintain the charging stations in public spaces ourselves. We have an agreement with Vattenfall for this purpose. They handle everything for us and manage the process. This means they take care of everything from the moment the request is submitted until the charging station is up and running.

Charging stations are being installed on a regular basis. You can check various apps and websites to see where charging stations are located and whether they are currently available.

When you apply for a charging station, you will be asked a series of questions. Your answers will determine whether you are eligible. The installation policy in the charging vision provides a detailed description of how Vattenfall handles applications for public charging stations on our behalf.
