Royal Honour for Mrs. Warlam from Wamel

On Monday, June 17, Mrs. Warlam from Wamel received a Royal Honour for her outstanding social commitment. Mayor Vincent van Neerbos surprised her that afternoon during a gathering to celebrate her 25th anniversary as a volunteer.

Ms. Warlam has been a volunteer at De Luisterlijn Nijmegen since 1999. For 25 years, she has been talking to people who need a listening ear. She performs this work with great attention and empathy. Vincent van Neerbos: "A committed and enthusiastic volunteer who is always there and able to look for a solution or a change in the situation."

Ms. Warlam has also been organist at the Kloosterkerk Sint Antonius van Padua in Megen for 10 years and is available as organist for the Open-Leurvieringen in Lent. Since 2017, she has also been organist and choir director at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Victor in Wamel.

Ms. Warlam has been appointed Member of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
