Royal decoration, ribbon
What is it?
If you know someone in your community who deserves a ribbon, you can nominate that person.
How does it work?
Most royal honors are awarded during the "lintjesregen" (literally "rain of ribbons"). The lintjesregen takes place every year on the last working day before King's Day.
- Would you like to nominate someone for next year's honors? If so, you must do so by June 1 of this year at the latest.
- Is this an interim award? Then you must submit the proposal no later than 6 months before the desired award date.
What should I do?
- Contact the municipality where the candidate lives. They will be able to tell you whether your proposal is special enough to warrant a royal honor.
