Organize an event during Climate Week

Do you have a good idea for an activity that encourages others to make more conscious choices? If so, the municipality of West Maas en Waal would be happy to help you get started with an initiative in your neighborhood, street, or village.

During Climate Week, from November 2 through 8, 2026, we’ll be highlighting green and climate-friendly initiatives. This year, we’re giving residents the chance to organize their own activities. Examples include a clothing swap, a workshop on energy conservation, a community cleanup, a green neighborhood activity, or an inspiring gathering about environmentally conscious living.

Apply for a grant for your initiative

To encourage residents to organize their own activities, the municipality is offering a grant. You can apply for up to €200 per initiative to carry out your idea. This grant is paid out in advance.

With this program, we aim to give residents the opportunity to contribute to a green and future-proof West Maas en Waal. Resident-led initiatives often align well with the wishes and interests of the local community and bring people together around themes such as greening, energy conservation, and reuse.

Who is this for?

The grant is intended for residents of the municipality of West Maas en Waal who wish to organize an activity in November for or together with fellow residents. This could, for example, involve reusing materials, greening initiatives, saving energy, or reducing waste.

How does it work?

You can apply for the grant by clicking the button below. In the application form, we ask you to provide a brief description of the activity, a general overview of the costs, and your IBAN number. We will use your IBAN to transfer the grant amount of €200 to you.
