Enthusiastic climate mayors

Climate mayors are people who are committed to improving the climate in their own communities. They inspire others, such as colleagues, neighbors, or associations, to live more sustainably. The Ministry of Climate and Green Growth has set up the climate mayor program to support these green activists.

Climate Mayors Land van Maas & Waal

Dorine Epping and Cora van Ingen will continue to serve as climate mayors of Land van Maas & Waal in 2026. Their mission? To put Land van Maas & Waal's green story on the map. With their enthusiasm, they are committed to making a greater impact on climate issues together: "Being positive about the climate does not mean that everything is fine, but seeing the good in what is there. All the positive seeds that are planted together create a beautiful field of flowers."

Introduction to the mayor of West Maas en Waal 

On October 9, 2024, the climate mayors met Vincent Neerbos, mayor of the municipality of West Maas en Waal. "How wonderful it is when residents are so committed to our climate! We can only applaud that," said Mayor Vincent Neerbos of the municipality of West Maas en Waal.
