Enthusiastic Climate Mayors

Climate Mayors are people who are committed to improving the climate in their local communities. They inspire others—such as colleagues, neighbors, or community groups—to live more sustainably. The Ministry of Climate and Green Growth established the Climate Mayor program to support these green activists.

Climate Mayors of Land van Maas & Waal

Dorine Epping and Cora van Ingen will continue to serve as climate mayors of the Land van Maas & Waal in 2026. Their mission? Map the Land van Maas & Waal’s green story on the Map . With their enthusiasm, they are committed to working together to make a greater impact on climate issues: “Being positive about the climate doesn’t mean everything is fine, but rather seeing the good in what we have. All the positive seeds that are planted together create a beautiful field of flowers.”

Introduction of the Mayor of West Maas en Waal 

On October 9, 2024, the climate mayors met Vincent Neerbos, the Mayor of the Municipality of West Maas en Waal. “How wonderful it is when residents are so committed to our climate! We can only applaud that wholeheartedly,” said Mayor Vincent Neerbos of the Municipality of West Maas en Waal.
