Childcare inspection
What is it?
It is important that a childcare center, childminder location, or preschool is of good quality. If you have a childcare organization, your location will therefore be inspected every year by an inspector from the Municipal Health Service (GGD).
How does it work?
The GGD inspector will visit unannounced and check whether:
- your educational policy plan is implemented in practice
- there are enough staff members present for the number of children in the daycare center
- the groups are not too large
- every employee has a certificate of good conduct (VOG)
- every employee has the right qualifications
- there is a safe and healthy reception location
The inspector also asks questions to the parent committee. The Municipal Health Service (GGD) draws up a report on the inspection.
For parents
The National Childcare Register (LRK) contains details of all childcare organizations that meet the legal requirements at the time of registration. You will also find the registration number of each organization here. You may need this number if you apply for childcare allowance. You can also download the GGD reports from the LRK website.
What should I do?
You must publish the inspection report from the childcare supervisor on your website. If you do not have a website, you must make the report available for inspection in a place that is accessible to parents and staff.
