Cadastral information

What is it?

The Land Registry collects data on ownership of land, houses, factories, ships, and aircraft. The Land Registry also has:

  • topographical data
  • surveying data
  • information about restrictions on real estate and
  • information about underground cables and pipes

All this information can be requested from the Land Registry at .

How does it work?

You can request the following cadastral information from the Land Registry:

  • cadastral notice
  • mortgage notice
  • extract from cadastral map with surrounding area map
  • purchase and sale prices of homes in your neighborhood
  • property report

What should I do?

  • You can request the information from the Land Registry.
  • If you are unsure about the size of a piece of land or the boundary between your property and that of your neighbors, you can ask the Land Registry to mark the boundaries on your land. Request a cadastral map from the Land Registry.
  • Via Ruimtelijkeplannen.nl, you can view the plans that were initiated before January 1, 2024, in accordance with the Spatial Planning Act (Wro).
  • The plans submitted after January 1, 2024, can be found under the rules section on the map of the new environmental desk.

Additional information

The municipality, the Land Registry, and other private and government agencies are responsible for land surveying. The Land Registry's survey is decisive in determining the area of a plot of land. The municipality (or the Land Registry on behalf of the municipality) also measures the so-called underground infrastructure, such as cables and pipes, and marks these on a map.

Surveying data is topographical data. This includes, for example, data on the height and surface area of land or buildings. But it also includes data from measurements of trees, cables, pipes, and property boundaries. The municipality uses this data when drawing up the environmental plan.
