Youth work
What is it?
Youth work identifies and offers support to (vulnerable) young people. In addition, they are able to respond to the needs of young people and can bring supply and demand together.
Youth work is part of the community development coordinator's responsibilities. He focuses specifically on young people in the municipality of West Maas en Waal.
In addition, the municipality of West Maas en Waal has the option of submitting a subsidy application for activities within the scope of youth work that meet the criteria set out in the policy rules of the General Subsidy Regulation.
How does it work?
The youth worker seeks out young people in the villages and establishes contact with them. He tries to gain insight into what is going on among young people and what their wishes and needs are.
The youth worker brings supply and demand together in the young people's immediate environment. In doing so, he makes use of the contacts he has established with local organizations, associations, and youth services, among others.
Young people can also contact the youth worker for information and advice or if they want to organize something but are unsure how to go about it. The youth worker can advise them, show them the way, or put them in touch with other parties who can help them.
In some cases, it is possible to obtain a subsidy for organizing activities for and by young people.

What does it cost?
The municipality pays for the youth worker's services.
