Youth Work
What is it?
Youth services identify and provide support to (vulnerable) young people. In addition, they are able to respond to the needs of young people and match supply with demand.
Youth work is part of the task of the community development coordinator. He specifically focuses on young people in the municipality of West Maas en Waal.
Additionally, the municipality of West Maas en Waal offers the possibility to submit a grant application for activities within youth work, provided it meets the criteria in the policy rules of the General Grant Ordinance.
How does it work?
The youth worker reaches out to young people in the villages and connects with them. He tries to gain insight into what is going on among the young people and what their wishes and needs are.
The youth worker brings together supply and demand in the young people’s immediate community. In doing so, he draws on the connections he has established with local organizations, clubs, and youth services, among others.
Young people can also turn to the youth worker for information and advice, or if they want to organize something but aren’t sure how to go about it. The youth worker can offer advice, provide guidance, or connect them with other organizations that can help.
In some cases, it is possible to receive a grant for organizing activities for and by young people.
What should I do?
