‘Jeugd aan Zet’ funding proves to be a hit
The amount of € 10,000 that the Municipality of West Maas en Waal received from the central government has already been fully spent.
Activities for and by young people
These funds were intended to support activities for and by young people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the well-known restrictions, many organizations managed to come up with a wide variety of activities.
Not only youth groups and sports clubs, but also therapeutic farms, a carnival association, a fishing club, and a village platform, among others, came up with great ideas. One or more youth activities have been or are being organized in every village.
37 COVID-19-safe activities
“I am very pleased—especially for our young people—that we were able to quickly set up a simple and popular program in collaboration with the social welfare organization Sociom. I would also like to thank all the organizers for their cooperation. With the €10,000, we were able to support no fewer than 37 COVID-safe activities in our eight villages, each receiving a grant of at least €250,” said Alderman Reuvers.
