Working on our beautiful municipality is something we do together. Because you, as a resident, know what it's like to live here. You have experience, knowledge, and undoubtedly ideas too. That's why we believe it's important to involve you, as far as possible, in what the municipality does. We have established a policy on this (855 kB).

A very important step is the new online platform wijzijnwestmaasenwaal.nl. In addition to the existing, personal ways of joining the conversation, here you can contribute your ideas, join the discussion, and participate in municipal plans, projects, or policies online. You can also follow the progress of a project or development, including milestones, results, and feedback.

Survey among residents
In the run-up to the adoption of the policy, we conducted a survey to gauge how residents of our municipality feel about resident participation. We used the results as building blocks for the municipality's participation policy. And, of course, we are now working in practice to further develop resident participation in our municipality. For example, we are working to improve the way we encourage people to contribute their ideas and participate in specific themes.
