Requesting information about policies or decisions (WHO request)

What is it?

If you would like to request information about the municipality’s policies or decisions, you should submit a WHO request. WHO stands for the Reuse of Public Sector Information Act. This law stipulates that government information must be made public as much as possible. Furthermore, you are permitted to reuse the information you receive through a WHO request. You must submit a WHO request to the municipality.

What should I do?

You must submit the WHO request to the municipality. The WHO request must include the following:

  • Your address and your signature
  • The statement that this is a WHO request
  • Please provide as detailed a description as possible of the information you wish to reuse and, if applicable, the duration for which you wish to reuse it
  • How you would like to receive the information

You can submit your WHO request by mail or email.

How long does it take?

You will receive a response to your request within 4 weeks. The municipality may extend this period by 4 weeks.

File an objection

  • If the municipality does not make a decision in time, you can file an objection with the municipality.
  • If the municipality denies your request and you disagree with this decision, you can file an appeal within 6 weeks.
