Rental apartments in a former dairy factory in Beneden-Leeuwen

The former dairy plant on Van Heemstraweg, near the roundabout with Veesteeg in Beneden-Leeuwen repurposed after standing vacant for years. The project’s initiator, TIBO Vastgoed, and the municipality West Maas en Waal recently West Maas en Waal an agreement. 

Affordable rental housing

The building will feature 11 rental apartments. These apartments fall within the social housing segment. This redevelopment project therefore addresses the demand for affordable rental housing. The great thing is that all apartments have their own outdoor space.

This plan will also enhance the appearance of the entrance to the village of Beneden-Leeuwen.

Alderman van den Boom: “This development will finally put the building on Van Heemstraweg, which has stood vacant for years, to good use. The plan will contribute both to the supply of affordable housing and to the quality of our municipality’s urban environment.”

Design Plan

The plan is public, and anyone can review the documents. The municipal council is expected to make a decision on adopting the plan municipal council the second quarter of 2026.
