Household help
What is it?
If you are no longer able to handle all your household chores on your own, the local government can help you. The local government will work with you to find a solution.
How does it work?
The type of assistance the municipality provides depends on what is the best solution for you. First, a VraagWijzer counselor will discuss VraagWijzer you whether you can resolve your problem (at least in part) on your own. This could involve, for example, getting help from family, friends, and acquaintances. If that is not possible or insufficient, support can be provided to help you manage your household. This can be done in the following ways:
- Household assistance provided by a service provider contracted by the municipality. We refer to this as in-kind care. The service provider will then ensure that you receive assistance with household chores.
- You arrange this yourself by hiring the assistance. You will receive a sum of money for this (known as a personal budget), which is then managed by the SVB.
For this assistance, you pay a copayment of up to €20.60 per month. This is called the subscription fee. You will receive the bill for the copayment from the CAK.
You don't always have to pay a copay:
- Have you not yet reached the retirement age? Do you live with at least one other person? If so, you do not have to pay a personal contribution.
- There is no copayment for children under 18. This applies only to home modifications covered by the Social Support Act (Wmo).
There is a maximum out-of-pocket cost for households
Do you have a partner who receives Wlz care, and do you yourself receive support under the Wmo? If so, there is a maximum out-of-pocket cost for your household.
The CAK takes this into account when calculating the patient copayment

You need your BSN for your Wmo application
