Help with household chores

What is it?

If you are no longer able to do everything yourself in the household, the municipality can help you with this. The municipality will work with you to find a solution.

How does it work?

The type of assistance provided by the municipality depends on what is the best solution for you. First, a VraagWijzer consultant will discuss with you whether you can solve your problem (partly) yourself. This could be with the help of family, friends, and acquaintances, for example. If that is not possible or insufficient, support can be provided in running your household. This can be done in the following ways:

  • Domestic support provided by a service provider contracted by the municipality. We refer to this as care in kind. The service provider will ensure that you receive support with your household chores.
  • You arrange this yourself by hiring the help. You will receive a sum of money for this (called a personal budget), which is then managed by the SVB.

For this assistance, you pay a personal contribution of up to €20.60 per month. This is called the subscription fee. You will receive the invoice for the personal contribution from the CAK.

There is not always a personal contribution:

  • Have you not yet reached the state pension age? Do you live in a household with at least one other person? Then you do not have to pay a personal contribution.
  • No personal contribution applies to children under the age of 18. Only for home modifications under the Social Support Act (Wmo).

There is a maximum personal contribution for households.

Do you have a partner who receives Wlz care and do you yourself receive support from the Wmo? In that case, a maximum personal contribution applies to your household.

The CAK takes this into account in its calculations of personal contributions.

What should I do?

  • Please contact VraagWijzer by calling 0487 790 790.
You can also send an email to info@vraagwijzerwmw.nl.
  • You report your problem.
  • A VraagWijzer consultant will make an appointment with you for a meeting at your home. During this meeting, your problem will be discussed in more detail and a possible solution will be sought together with you.
  • You will receive a report (personal support plan) which you sign, add any comments, and return to VraagWijzer.
  • This means you have immediately submitted a request if the report states that the solution must be provided by the municipality (or if you have indicated that you disagree with the solution proposed in the report and believe that the municipality should provide a solution to your problem).

How long will it take?

After you have registered with VraagWijzer, your report will be processed as soon as possible. There are currently waiting times. You will have to wait longer than usual. After receiving the report, which includes the application for a municipal solution, you will be notified as soon as possible whether you are eligible for this.
