Assistance for people with a disability

What is it?

If you have a physical, intellectual, or mental disability, you may need additional support or accommodations in order to work. This is called “sheltered employment.” The municipality can help you find sheltered employment.

What should I do?

Werkzaak Rivierenland will assess whether you are eligible for sheltered employment. The UWV will advise Werkzaak on this matter. You do not need to submit an application yourself.

Request an assessment of work capacity

Do you have a work-related disability due to illness or a physical or mental disability? If so, you can request a Work Capacity Assessment from the UWV. The UWV will assess whether you are able to work. The outcome of the assessment will determine whether you are eligible for assistance from the UWV or from Werkzaak Rivierenland.

"Work capacity" refers to your ability to work. For example, you have work capacity if you:

  • are able to work with guidance;
  • need a device to be able to work;
  • can only do sheltered employment.
