What is it?
You pay dog tax if you own a dog. The BSR ( ) is responsible for levying and collecting dog tax for the municipality of West Maas en Waal.
What should I do?
The BSR ( ) is responsible for levying and collecting dog tax for the municipality of West Maas en Waal. You can register or deregister your dog with the BSR.
Register dog
You can register a new dog in MijnBSR. If you do not have a DigiD or your details are not in the digital portal, please contact the BSR. They will send you a registration form for your new dog.
Deregister dog
Are you selling your dog, or has your dog died? Please notify us of this change within six weeks via MijnBSR. In the event of death, please enclose a statement from the crematorium or veterinarian. If you are selling the dog, please enclose a statement from the shelter or the new owner. You only pay dog tax for the part of the year that you own a dog.
What does it cost?
The tax amounts to per tax year
- for a first dog€44.21
- for each dog above the number of one€88.43
- for dogs kept in a kennel, per kennel€265.30
Additional information
You do not have to pay tax for a guide dog (for the blind). You also do not have to pay dog tax for police dogs, dogs staying in shelters, and puppies younger than 3 months.
Please note
If you do not register your dog, the BSR ( ) may still send you a tax assessment later.
Lodge an objection
If you disagree with the assessment, you can lodge an objection. You can do this at the BSR.
Include the assessment number in your objection and explain why you disagree with it. Submit your objection within 6 weeks of the date on the assessment notice.
