Become a purveyor to the royal household

What is it?

Purveyor to the Royal Household is a royal distinction (designation). You can apply for this designation from the mayor. Your company will then be permitted to use the royal coat of arms and add the title 'By Royal Appointment Purveyor to the Royal Household'.

How does it work?

Only the king can award the designation of Purveyor to the Royal Household. You can receive this designation on a special anniversary of your company (100, 125, 150 years, etc.). Sometimes you can also receive it for a very special event in the company. You may use the title of Purveyor to the Royal Household for a maximum of 25 years. After that, you can apply for an extension.

What should I do?

  • Submit an application to the mayor of the municipality.
  • Do this in the municipality where your company is located.
  • Explain clearly why your company deserves the designation of Purveyor to the Royal Household.
  • Submit your application at least nine months in advance.

You will be notified automatically if you are awarded the designation of Purveyor to the Royal Household. In most cases, you will receive the accompanying certificate from the King's Commissioner or the mayor.

What do I need?

  • proof of the date your company was established
  • balance sheet for the past five years
  • description of financial expectations for the coming years
