On Friday, May 24, 2024, the Safe Business Certification for the Veesteeg-Oost Business Park was renewed for a period of four years. This certification is an important recognition for business parks where active cooperation takes place to improve safety.

To retain the certificate, the entrepreneurs work closely with the municipality of West Maas en Waal, the police, the fire department, and the business park management association. They make and follow joint agreements to tackle nuisance, crime, and maintenance. The municipality of West Maas en Waal is proud that Veesteeg-Oost Business Park once again meets these strict conditions.

Thanks to the measures imposed by the quality mark, damage caused by crime and insecurity to businesses in West Maas en Waal is reduced. This also has a positive effect on the sense of security of both entrepreneurs and residents.

The Safe Business Certification for business parks was introduced in 2005 by MKB-Nederland, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Security. The Veesteeg business park received this certificate for the first time four years ago. After four years, the collaboration between the parties involved is reevaluated.

To renew the quality mark, the entrepreneurs and other parties involved make new agreements, including:

  • Organizing meetings for and by entrepreneurs about a clean and safe business park;
  • Combating subversion and cybercrime;
  • Better organized policing;
  • Use in public spaces, such as landscaping and street lighting.
