Help the farmland birds in West Maas en Waal with a free partridge hedge or herb border!

This is an old message.

Have you ever seen a partridge? Or heard the song of a skylark? We are seeing less and less of the red of the linnet. These farmland birds are still around, but they are struggling. The disappearance of small landscape features and the lack of winter food play an important role in this. But you can easily give these animals a helping hand!

Strengthening the habitat of farmland birds

Together with the IVN and the municipality of West Maas en Waal, Stichting Landschapsbeheer Gelderland (SLG) wants to strengthen the habitat of partridges. To do this, we also want to plant small-scale partridge hedges and sow herb borders on private plots in rural areas. The size, layout, or location of your plot is irrelevant. A partridge hedge is also a nice alternative to fencing.

If you have a piece of land available and would like to have it set up for partridges, please register at. After registering, an SLG advisor will contact you to discuss the possibilities on your property.

We provide free advice on landscaping. Plants or seeds for a herb border are also free of charge.

This project is made possible thanks to the municipality of West Maas en Waal and the province of Gelderland.
