Description of the coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms was adopted by the Wamel Municipal Council Wamel June 28, 1984. By Royal Decree of December 18, 1984, the aforementioned decision of the municipal council was approved.

In silver, two wavy bars of azure; in a heart-shaped shield of gold, a double eagle of sable, beaked, tongued, and pied of gules; the shield is surmounted by a golden crown of three leaves and two pearls.

Flag description

Municipal flag

On May 30, 1985, the municipal council to adopt a new municipal flag. In addition to the municipal coat of arms, it is customary for the municipality to fly a municipal flag for representational purposes. In selecting the design, the council sought to ensure a close connection to the municipal coat of arms.

Five wavy stripes—white, blue, white-blue, and so on—with a yellow stripe running from the top to the bottom, extending over one-third of the flag’s length, bearing a double black eagle whose height is equal to one-half the height of the flag.
