The municipalities of Druten and West Maas en Waal a joint veterans' gathering

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the municipalities of Druten and West Maas en Waal will host West Maas en Waal joint veterans’ gathering for all veterans living in these municipalities. Through this gathering, the municipal governments express their respect, recognition, and appreciation for the veterans’ dedication to freedom and security.

The event offers veterans and their partners the opportunity to share stories, reminisce, and get to know one another. Through the Veterans Institute, the municipalities have sent personal invitations to all veterans.

Veterans who have not received an invitation but would like to participate can register by October 23 at www.westmaasenwaal.nl/veteranen.

"Our veterans deserve recognition for their dedication and service. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to say 'thank you' in person," says Sigrid Sengers, mayor of Druten.

“We are pleased to organize this event together with Druten, because it allows us to put together an even better program that does justice to our veterans—with more opportunities for interaction, a sense of belonging, and, above all, our recognition of their dedication,” said Vincent van Neerbos, mayor of West Maas en Waal.

The meeting will take place at Dorpshuis De Lier, Koningsweg 12 in Puiflijk, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and will conclude with a group lunch.
