Municipality of West Maas en Waal appeals against Jasmin Group

This is an old message.

Today, the Municipal Executive decided to appeal the court's ruling in the preliminary relief proceedings brought by the Jasmin Group against the municipality.

Preparations are also being made for summary proceedings regarding the costs charged by the Jasmin Group for 't Veerhuis in Wamel.

Alderman Marieke van den Boom-Witzel: "We disagree with the court's ruling. We contested the payment for services that were not provided, but the judge did not take this into account. We also believe that the services provided by the Jasmin Group to 't Veerhuis can be considered a partial fulfillment of the lease agreement that we contested."

While these two proceedings are ongoing, the municipality wants to explore whether it can reach an agreement with the Jasmin Group without the intervention of the court. Alderman Marieke van den Boom-Witzel: "In my opinion, we both benefit from peace and quiet at the moment. At least until July 1, 2024."

On June 27, the council will make a decision about the future use of Raadhuisdijk 18 in Maasbommel and Wilhelminastraat 9 in Wamel.
