What is a disabled parking permit?
With a disability parking permit, you can park in designated disability parking spaces in all EU countries, Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland. You must, however, follow local parking regulations
You may be eligible if you:
- have a demonstrable, long-term mobility impairment (lasting longer than 6 months) due to a medical condition or disability, and
- you are unable to walk more than 100 meters at a time on your own using standard walking aids.
There are three types of Maps.
Driver's License
- You will be unable to walk more than 100 meters on your own for at least six months. This applies even with assistive devices, such as a cane or crutches.
- You can drive yourself.
Boarding Pass
- You will be unable to walk more than 100 meters on your own for at least six months. This applies even with assistive devices, such as a cane or crutches.
- You are unable to drive a car on your own. You require the assistance of a driver at all times.
You can also apply for a combination of a driver card and a passenger card. For example, if you are permanently wheelchair-bound.

The administration of a facility that houses people with disabilities may apply for a disabled parking permit for the transportation of residents.

The cost of a disabled parking permit is:

How does it work?
- The parking permit is issued in a specific person's name.
- The parking permit is not tied to a specific license plate. You can use the Map any car.
- The parking permit is valid for up to 5 years.
Where can I park with a disability parking permit?
With a disabled parking permit, you may park your car in three types of disabled parking spaces. In addition, you may park in areas marked with a “No Parking” sign. You may also sometimes park for free in a regular parking space at a parking meter. In some parking spaces, you must use a parking disc. You can find more information about this on the U. What should I do?

- You will receive an application form, which you should complete, sign, and return to VraagWijzer along with one recent passport photo that meets the requirements listed at
- You will receive a form to have your treating physician fill out
- If, in addition to the information provided by your treating physician, further medical testing is required, you will be notified in advance
- If you need a disabled parking permit, you will be notified when you can pick it up at the town hall reception desk.
- You are required to pay a fee for the disabled parking permit, which you will pay when you pick it up.
