Extra surveillance in floodplains

This is an old message.

The floodplains of Gelderland are beautiful, but unfortunately stray dogs, disturbance of nature, and vandalism cause problems in some places. That is why various organizations have joined forces to do something about this.

Additional supervision and joint targeted actions

As part of the SSiG partnership, extra surveillance is being deployed in the floodplains. These are part of the extensive Natura 2000 area of the Rhine branches, which extends beyond the province. The Rivierenland Environmental Service (ODR) and other enforcement partners are conducting additional surveillance in various areas of the Gelderland river region where there is nuisance or violations.

The approach goes beyond mere supervision. Joint enforcement actions are also carried out. These are targeted actions, for example to tackle illegal fishing and overnight stays. In such cases, supervisors from the various organizations work together with the police. The aim is to reduce violations and thus protect nature.

Collaboration

This project is led by the province of Gelderland and carried out in collaboration with, among others, the Rivierenland Environmental Agency, Rijkswaterstaat, the Rivierenland Water Board, Staatsbosbeheer, the Central Netherlands Angling Federation, local wildlife management units, and private landowners.

Reporting nuisance
