Increased monitoring in floodplains
The floodplains of Gelderland are beautiful, but unfortunately, stray dogs, disturbances to nature, and vandalism are causing problems in some areas. That is why various organizations have joined forces to address this issue.

Increased monitoring and joint targeted actions
As part of the SSiG partnership, additional monitoring is being carried out in the floodplains. These are part of the extensive, cross-provincial Natura 2000 site known as the Rhine Branches. The Rivierenland Environmental Agency (ODR) and other enforcement partners are conducting additional monitoring in various areas of the Gelderland river region where nuisances or violations have been reported.
The approach goes beyond mere monitoring. Joint enforcement operations are also carried out. These are targeted actions, for example, to combat illegal fishing and overnight camping. In these operations, inspectors from various organizations work together with the police. The goal is to reduce violations and thereby protect nature.
Collaboration
This project is led by the Province of Gelderland and carried out in collaboration with, among others, the Rivierenland Environmental Agency, Rijkswaterstaat, the Rivierenland Water Board, Staatsbosbeheer, the Central Netherlands Angling Federation, local wildlife management units, and private landowners.
