Village deal

There are a number of issues in Altforst that require effective and logical coordination. There are challenges and developments in many areas: social cohesion, participation, livability of small communities, volunteer work, housing, school buildings, village halls, and sports. These important developments cannot be viewed in isolation from one another. They require an integrated approach. 

That is why, in June 2022, various organizations and associations from Altforst, together with the municipality of West Maas en Waal, signed a so-called Village Deal with the province of Gelderland. 

In a Village Deal, residents, municipalities, entrepreneurs, social organizations, and the province of Gelderland make new agreements to work together on the social cohesion of a neighborhood or village.

The Village Deal for Altforst focuses on the following questions: What can we do together in terms of social structure and organization to ensure that everyone can continue to participate in all kinds of activities in the village? What is needed to achieve this? And is it affordable? 

Project group

A project group has been formed. It includes the following organizations and associations. They signed the Village Deal last year:

VundamenZ project team

First, we sought a coordinating, supportive project leader. This role was filled by VundamenZ from Ommen. Their approach, knowledge, and experience with issues surrounding quality of life in small communities best matched the tender specifications.
VundamenZ has set up a project team to supervise the project group.
