The third edition of "Schuif samen aan!" will begin soon

After two successful editions, Schuif samen aan! returns for the third time in the municipality of West Maas en Waal starting in October. All residents of the municipality are cordially invited to join a meal hosted by Schuif Samen aan!.

The participating Multifunctional Facilities (MFAs) or community centers provide the meals, either on their own or in collaboration with other organizations.

Alderman Reuvers on the initiative: “The ‘Schuif samen aan!’ gatherings are all about meeting and coming together during the dark months of the year. I’m glad we can launch a third edition. I hope a diverse group will join us at every gathering so that many different residents can meet one another. So come along with your neighbor, or bring someone who spends a lot of time alone. And join us at Schuif samen aan! I’d like to thank the participating community centers and village halls for their dedication. They are among the most important venues for the municipality when it comes to bringing people together.”

Six community centers and village halls are participating in "Schuif samen aan!"

This year, 6 MFAs and community centers are participating in Schuif samen aan! The municipality of West Maas en Waal is pleased about this. The participants are: Community Center De Hucht, Community Center De Schuur (in cooperation with Village Platform Appeltern), Community Center De Uithof, Kulturhus D’n Dulper, MFA De Rosmolen, and VTC Wamel.

The previous edition concluded with a wrap-up meeting. During this meeting, we discussed the highlights and areas for improvement. These have been incorporated into this third edition.

Meet up from October through April

You’re welcome to join us during the dark and cold months of the year. It’s especially important to keep getting together during these months. The gatherings take place from October 7 through April 6. There are various times and dates when residents can join us. Small contribution toward meals

The maximum price for a meal is therefore €4 per adult. For children under 12, the price is €3. To keep the cost of participation low, the municipality contributes to the cost of meals for the “Schuif samen aan!” program!

The MFAs and community centers operate on a pre-registration basis. There is a maximum number of spots available each evening. This is necessary due to preparation requirements and capacity constraints.
