College reaches agreement with Jasmin Group

The Municipal Executive has reached agreement with the Jasmin Group (subject to approval by the Municipal Council) on the purchase of Raadhuisdijk 18 in Maasbommel and Wilhelminastraat 9 in Wamel, and the termination of the lease agreement.
Alderman Marieke van den Boom-Witzel is pleased with the agreement reached with Jasmin Group: "The council realizes that the municipality is paying a substantial amount. At the same time, we know that this decision offers peace of mind and certainty for all involved."
Purchase of Raadhuisdijk 18 in Maasbommel and Wilhelminastraat 9 in Wamel
The council has decided to propose to the municipal council that it purchase Wilhelminastraat 9 in Wamel and Raadhuisdijk 18 in Maasbommel. The transfer of the properties will take place on July 1, 2024.
Amendment to lease agreement
The college also proposes to the council that the lease agreement with the Jasmin Group be amended.
This means that:
- the number of Ukrainian displaced persons to be accommodated will be reduced from 160 to 130;
- The existing shelters in Altforst and 't Veerhuis in Wamel will remain in place. These locations will accommodate the 130 Ukrainian displaced persons.
Settlement agreement
The agreements made with the Jasmin Group are laid down in a confidential agreement. The agreement is confidential because it contains sensitive business information.
Financial consequences
The purchase of the buildings and the termination of the lease agreement will cost the municipality €4,255,000.
Planning for the coming weeks
On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m., the city council will discuss the proposal from the municipal executive.
The sequel
During the summer months, an action plan will be drawn up for the use of the buildings.
Alderman van den Boom - Witzel: "There is also a great need for housing and social facilities in our municipality. We are going to look at how we can use these buildings to meet these various needs."
The action plan will also outline how the local community will be involved in the further development of both buildings.
