Carborundum grinding
In our municipality, the use of firecrackers is permitted only on December 31 between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. if the following Requirements met:
- In the case of carbide blasting, containers with a maximum capacity of 1 liter may be used, provided that no actions are taken or omitted which the person conducting the carbide blasting knows, or could reasonably have suspected, would pose a danger to people or the environment, or
- Carbide blasting takes place on a plot of land outside the built-up area, using containers with a maximum capacity of 60 liters, provided that the following Requirements met:
- No more than ten buses will be used in total;
- Carbide shooting must be supervised by an adult who ensures that these Requirements followed;
- No acts shall be performed or omitted if the person conducting the carbide blasting knows, or could reasonably have suspected, that such acts could pose a danger to people, animals, property, or the environment; in any event:
- Only a ball may be used (no lid);
- Must the buses be securely anchored to the floor, in a frame, or by some other means to prevent them from bouncing back?
- The shot is fired at an angle of no more than 45 degrees;
- Ensure that the handling and distribution of carbide, as well as the shooting of carbide itself, are carried out exclusively by persons over the age of 16 who are not under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs;
- Should the carbide be stored in such a way that it cannot come into contact with water;
- Are there sufficient fire extinguishing agents available at the shooting range in the form of dry sand; and
- Is the audience at a minimum distance of 25 meters from the shooting range?
- The distance from the location where the carbide shooting takes place to third-party buildings must be at least 75 meters, unless those third parties have given their written consent to a shorter distance;
- The clear firing range must be at least 75 meters wide; this area must be owned, leased, or rented by the person responsible for the carbide shooting; it must not contain any public paths or roads;
- If carbide shooting takes place after sunset, the shooting range must be well lit.
