Are you applying for social assistance benefits and are you younger than 27? Then you are required to first see if you can follow a course of study or find work. You will be given four weeks to do so. After that search period, you can officially submit your application. The municipality will decide on the application.
Are you younger than 27 and do you live with someone who is 27 or older? Then you can apply for the benefit immediately. You must spend 4 weeks looking for work or training yourself.
How does it work?
Once you have applied for social assistance, you must first spend four weeks looking for training or work. After this search period, you can apply for your benefits on a permanent basis. You can apply for social assistance at Werkzaak Rivierenland.
When submitting your application, you must provide proof of your job search. Werkzaak Rivierenland will inform you about the proof you need to provide. If your proof is sufficient, you will be entitled to benefits, including for the period of your job search, provided you meet all the conditions for social assistance benefits.
Please note
Separate, lower social assistance standards apply to young people aged 18 to 21, known as the "youth standards." The amount of social assistance for young people up to the age of 21 is based on the parental maintenance obligation.
There are no separate, different social assistance standards for young people aged 21 to 27.
Are there more adults living in your home? Then the social assistance will be adjusted accordingly.
Have you just stopped a course of study for which you received student finance or another contribution towards your study costs? Then you may sometimes receive less than the statutory basic amount on a temporary basis.
