What is youth assistance?

Social assistance benefit you Social assistance benefit and are you under 27 years of age? If so, you are required to first see if you can enroll in a training program or find a job. How does it work?

Once you have submitted your application for social assistance, you must first spend 4 weeks looking for a training program or a job. After this search period, you can submit your final application for benefits. You can apply for social assistance at Werkzaak Rivierenland.

When you submit your application, you must provide proof of your job search. Werkzaak Rivierenland will inform you about the documentation you need. If your documentation is sufficient, you are entitled to benefits—including for the period during which you were searching for work—provided you Social assistance benefit all Requirements Social assistance benefit .

Please note

Separate, lower social assistance standards—known as “youth standards”—apply to young people aged 18 to 21. The amount of social assistance for young people up to age 21 is based on the parents’ obligation to provide support.

There are no separate, different social assistance standards for young people aged 21 to 27.
Are there more adults living in your household? If so, your social assistance will be adjusted accordingly.
Have you just stopped attending a program for which you received student financial aid or another contribution toward your educational expenses? If so, you may temporarily receive less than the statutory base amount.
