Proof of guarantee and/or provision of accommodation
What is it?
Some foreign visitors require a visa to visit the Netherlands. In some cases, a letter of guarantee is required to obtain this visa.
In the proof of financial support and/or accommodation, you explain why you have invited the person. For example, for a vacation. This helps the person to obtain the visa.
What should I do?
Check the website of the Netherlands Worldwide to see which nationalities require a visa.
You must complete a form and have your signature legalized by the municipality. If you are married or in a registered partnership, both of you must be present at the municipality and both sign the form.
What do I need?
- Completed guarantee form. Download this via Netherlands Worldwide.

Please note:
Do not sign the form yet! Because your signature must be legalized, you may only sign it in the presence of the municipal official.
How long will it take?
The municipality will immediately legalize your signature. You will then receive the form back immediately.
