The College of Mayor and Aldermen of West Maas en Waal is rewarding six new ideas from residents (groups) with a maximum of € 750. They receive this one-time contribution for improving liveability or self-reliance. 

The College of Mayor and Aldermen of West Maas en Waal is rewarding six new ideas from residents (groups), each with a maximum of € 750. They receive this one-time contribution because their new ideas improve livability or self-reliance.

These activities include:

  • Alphen Event Alphen All Out: Jorie van Beuningen
  • Establishing a neighborhood watch group and organizing community-building activities: Rooijsestraat–Zwaanstraat–Groot Hogeveld–Kerkpad Neighborhood Association, Dreumel
  • Organizing and hosting a Wellness Day: Beneden-Leeuwen Association for Active Seniors Over 50
  • Village Breakfast to Kick Off the Swimming Season: Dreumel Village Platform
  • Establishing support circles and organizing community-building activities: Residents of St. Henricusstraat, Wamel
  • Organizing and running a Repair Café: Marion Kroezen

Alderman Reuvers: “It’s great that these positive community initiatives allow us to build a strong social foundation.”

On April 8, Alderman Reuvers presented the award certificates to the winning organizers. The ceremony took place at City Hall.

Applications for 2026

Starting this fall, you can also apply for one-time grants for one-off initiatives for 2026. Applications can be submitted via www.westmaasenwaal.nl/SamenBeter. The website also provides more information about the application process and the Requirements.
