Municipal Archives
What is it?
The municipal archives contain all of the municipality’s old and new administrative records. For example, you can find your grandparents’ marriage certificate or historical information about the municipality there. You can usually also find public records on the website wiewaswie.nl
Not all records are public. Civil registry records only become public after a certain period of time. The following time limits apply:
- Birth certificates: 100 years
- marriage records: 75 years
- Death certificates: 50 years
Until 1984, the municipalities of Appeltern, Dreumel Wamel existed. The administrative records of these municipalities can be found at the Nijmegen Regional Archives.
