The province and the Municipality of West Maas en Waal have enabled sand extraction at the Over de Maas location, combined with nature development and space for the river Maas.
Procedure
The zoning plan process for Over de Maas has been completed, and the zoning plan is now final.

Preparatory work began in late 2009. All work is described in work plans, which are available in the downloads section along with the zoning plan.
Nederzand
Sand extraction is carried out by the company Nederzand. You can find more information on their website, Nederzand.nl ( ), as well as on the Overdemaas.com website.
"Over de Maas" Residents' Association
The "Over de Maas" residents' association advocates for the interests of all residents. It focuses on health and safety, nuisances, and property damage. It reminds the parties involved of the agreements they have made and monitors the agreed-upon damage settlement.

Sand extraction may raise questions among local residents and other stakeholders or prompt them to file a complaint. Because various parties are involved in the project, it has been decided to set up a single point of contact.
