What is it?
- In the municipality of West Maas en Waal, Avri is responsible for waste collection.
- By sorting your waste, you can help protect the environment. And you’ll have less non-recyclable waste.
What should I do?
- Please sort your waste as much as possible. You can read more about this on the Waste Sorting Guide at .
- Do you have questions about how waste is collected? Please contact Avri at.
- Not sure where the recycling bins are in your neighborhood? Avri has a Map at where you can enter your address. You’ll then see the different recycling bins and their locations.
- You can use your Avri waste card at all textile containers, diaper and incontinence product containers, and underground general waste containers in all Avri municipalities.
Have you moved?
Have you moved into a newly built home that doesn't have trash bins and/or a trash pass?
You can request a new container package and/or waste pass at no cost during the first two months.
Have you moved into a home with a waste collection plan that doesn't meet your needs, and/or is there no waste collection pass available?
During the first two months, you can adjust your container package and/or request a waste pass at no cost.

Request additional containers
Your basic package includes up to 2 containers per type of waste. For general waste containers (in rural areas), this is 1 container. These containers are covered by your waste collection fee.
Exchanging containers
Would you like a larger or smaller bin? You can exchange your bins once a year at no charge. It doesn’t matter whether you’re exchanging a large (240-liter) or a small (140-liter) bin.

Beneden-Leeuwen Mini Recycling Center: For Residents Beneden-Leeuwen
You Beneden-Leeuwen bring the following items to the mini recycling center at Veesteeg 8 in Beneden-Leeuwen free of charge:
- green garden waste
- Household Hazardous Waste up to 50 kilograms per visit)
- white and brown goods (all household, audio, and video equipment)
- asbestos (up to 2 m² free of charge without a demolition notification. More information about the Requirements for drop-off is available on the Avri website.)
You cannot bring plastic, drink cartons, and cans here. Nor can you bring paper and cardboard. These can be taken to Avri's recycling centers.
The mini-recycling center is open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The mini-recycling center is only accessible to private individuals from West Maas en Waal.
Avri recycling centers
Residents of West Maas en Waal are also welcome at Avri recycling centers in Tiel (Medel business park), Zaltbommel, Geldermalsen, and Culemborg. These recycling centers have longer opening hours. And you can bring many more types of waste here.
