What is it?
You are responsible for ensuring that your business waste is collected properly. The municipality is not responsible for collecting business waste. This is because there are significant differences in the type and volume of waste generated by different businesses.
How does it work?
- You must comply with environmental requirements for the storage and disposal of commercial waste.
- The requirements depend on the type and amount of waste you are disposing of.
What should I do?
You enter into a contract with a licensed waste collector or waste processor. You are free to choose any such company, as long as you comply with environmental requirements. You can find licensed companies that collect commercial waste in the VIHB list at , published by the NIWO Foundation. When you enter into a contract, you must specify the following:
- the type of waste
- the average amount of waste
- how often the trash needs to be collected
