Renovation of Margrietstraat in Beneden-Leeuwen

Margrietstraat in Beneden-Leeuwen is in need of renovation.

The main activities we do

  • replacing the stones on the street
  • replacing the stones of the sidewalk
  • replacement of the sewer system
  • laying a new sewer to drain rainwater
  • replacing the plants in the green areas

The layout of the street will remain as it is now as much as possible. The design will be the same as Molenlaan.

We are installing a rainwater sewer in Margrietstraat. This will reduce nuisance during heavy rainfall. You can help too! You can do this by disconnecting your downspout from the sewage system. This can only be done at the front of the house. You can read more about this in the flyer Disconnecting Margrietstraat.

Response memorandum and final draft

You had until January 4 to submit your comments on the preliminary draft. We received one response form. You can find this in the response memorandum. Our response is also included in this document.

Based on the response memorandum, we did not need to change the preliminary design. Therefore, the final design is the same as the preliminary design.

We came across this message by chance. It's great that the street is being tackled. Look at the parking options, which are now limited. The street now curves due to the tree roots. If you look at the planting, replace it with stones or decent shrubs. Now everyone is throwing their dog poop bags in there.The possibility to park along the road will remain. There is no room for additional parking facilities.
The existing trees will remain. New plants will be added underneath these trees. We will take your comment into account when choosing these new plants. When repaving, we will take the pressure from the tree roots into account. We will make the green areas slightly larger than they are now.
